President’s Report

June 15, 2009

“We are in the business of developing and maximizing human potential for both the clients we care for and the staff who dedicate their lives to this organization.”

We See Ourselves as a Living Organization

At HRDI, we see ourselves as a holistic treatment clinic that empowers individuals who have fallen through the cracks. These individuals are seen by many as hard to serve due to their severe problems and social complexities. Their devastating life experiences have disabled them from living by society’s standard of “normalcy.” Therefore, HRDI’s mission is to make a difference in these individuals’ lives by providing its expertise in behavioral health care services and giving them the opportunities they need to live their lives to the fullest potential. The essence of HRDI is that, we consider our clients as members of our family and we provide them with the same level of quality care that we expect for our own mothers, fathers, sisters, and brothers. This commitment has been and continues to be the realization for HRDI for the past 33 years.

We also embrace our organization as an institution that highly values education and professional development. We continuously encourage all staff to increase their education, credentials, and professional development in their area of expertise. This will ultimately enable them to provide the very best services for HRDI and its clients. We truly believe that as we move forward to be the leading provider of behavioral health care in this ever-changing society, we must constantly evaluate what we are doing, assess the models we are implementing, and continually optimize our ability to impact the people we serve in a positive way.

We Believe in the Value of Culture

The unique value proposition of HRDI as an organization is our understanding and appreciation of human culture. This culture goes beyond ethnicity, race, and religion. It is a subtle nuance that makes each individual inimitable from one another. This human culture stems out of the history of an individual’s life, and their family traditions, and their way of life. These different elements of life mold individuals to be who they are at the present along with the different behaviors they demonstrate, and their own ways of looking at the world. With this great understanding of human culture, we tailor our approach and services to our clients, who come from different places and stages in life, in order to provide the finest care for them. We are dedicated not just to their treatment recovery, but do not see our job as done until their educational, vocational, employment, and housing needs are solidified. We consider treatment complete when our clients ‘take flight’ along with mainstream society.

We Have a Nurturing Staff

We are successful today because of the people who have been dedicating their lives to this organization. It is such a privilege to be able to work with the greatest staff in the country. One important thing that we look for in our staff is their ability to nurture. We then pair this ability with continuous professional development and education in order to ensure the highest level of care for our clients. In other words, HRDI is trying to create a ripple effect by continuously nurturing its staff, and empowering them to consistently nurture, develop, and maximize the human potential of our client family.
It is important to note that we value not just the academic and professional expertise of our staff, but also their personal experience in similar cultural life. This shared experience enhances staff’s ability to understand and nurture clients on a level that penetrates beyond academic expertise.

We Need Your Support

As the world gets smaller and smaller each day as a result of technological advancement, we cannot help but to realize that our actions impact each other even more than before. Therefore, as we all gravitate toward building and living in a prosperous society, we must take care of disadvantaged individuals and families. We must realize that we benefit when they benefit and that we suffer when they suffer. Without our help, this population will only grow larger and create social predicaments that ultimately will have a huge impact on all of our lives. But more importantly, I truly believe that in each of us, there is a need to live a meaningful life. There is nothing more rewarding and meaningful than to have the privilege of empowering our fellow human beings to live their lives to the fullest. Thank you for your continuous support of HRDI and for helping us spread our arms far and wide to reach thousands of people in need. It is because of your support that we remain “On the Move and Making a Difference”, one precious life at a time.
